To document difficult boss behavior, keep a dated incident log of observable actions, relevant context, and work-related consequences. Write soon afterward, connect your account to available records, and separate what you witnessed from what you inferred or heard from someone else.

Coworker Acting Distant or Stressed? Read the Pattern
A coworker acting distant or stressed is not necessarily reacting to you; distance alone cannot establish dislike or its cause. Pay more attention to patterns in cooperation than to a quiet lunch or a brief reply.

A little perspective
Good advice for life as it happens.
Practical reads for your relationships, your workday and the things you’re figuring out along the way.
If your boss keeps changing expectations, clarify what the new request replaces and ask your manager to choose a workable priority, scope and deadline.
If your boss promotes someone else, pause before reacting, request specific feedback privately, and use it to assess your next move. A brief “Thanks for letting me know” acknowledges the announcement without feigning enthusiasm or endorsing the process. Give yourself time before resigning or confronting your manager publicly.
If your wife shows no affection, start with a conversation about what has changed and the closeness you miss. Ask how the relationship feels to her, then listen. A lack of affection alone does not mean she has stopped loving you.

Pick a starting point
Who—or what—are we celebrating?
Begin with the person, the moment or simply the mood. There is no wrong door into a thoughtful idea.
Yes, close friendships with people of the opposite sex can coexist with a committed relationship. If your partner has a close opposite-sex friend, shared history or time spent alone together does not automatically signal romantic interest or betrayal.
If your partner misses their ex, it may reflect nostalgia, unresolved hurt, or a wish to reconnect. The useful distinction is between missing something about the past and wanting to restart that relationship.
Stop repeating the question; when someone avoids answers, name what remains unresolved, state what you need to proceed, and decide what you’ll do if clarity never arrives. A vague reply alone does not establish why someone has not given a clear answer.
“We can skip that. Want to talk about something else?” is a low-pressure choice when deciding what to say when someone avoids questions. For a personal subject, that may be all you need to say. If the answer matters to a shared decision, try: “I’m asking because I need to know whether to go ahead.”
Legal parents make decisions within their authority; step-parents handle agreed everyday responsibilities. Everyone can act to protect a child from immediate harm.
